Sheffield Ceramics Festival
Sheffield Ceramics Festival has been showcasing the work of potters and ceramic artists from the Sheffield area and beyond. They are now looking forward to welcoming you to their 11th show.
In 2021 they began showing at their now regular venue, the exhibition hall at the wonderful Kelham Island Industrial Museum in Sheffield. Our thanks are due to the very helpful and supportive staff at the museum.
This year approximately 50 leading and up and coming potters/ceramic artists, largely drawn from the environs of Sheffield but also including guest potters from other areas, will be exhibiting and offering work for sale.
Come and enjoy a day out in a vibrant environment, talking to and seeing the work of fantastic potters and sculptors, visiting the museum and eating out at one of the many cafes in the area. See you there.

York Open Studios
5th & 6th April and 12th & 13th April
10am - 5pm
This year’s event will see over 160 artists from across York opening their studios and welcoming visitors. This annual event gives a rare glimpse into the creative methods of artists and offers an opportunity to buy work directly from the artists themselves.
There are 19 ceramic artists listed on the website including Patricia Qua, Jane Blackman, Emily Stubbs and Ruth King.

Potfest South East, Glynde Place
Potfest South East – Glynde Place is set in parkland immediately in front of a grand Elizabethan country house on the doorstep of the South Downs. The show is within easy access by road and rail from Brighton, Eastbourne and Lewes.

Clay North East
The first contemporary ceramics fair in the North East of Scotland showing work from over 40 makers.
The Barn lies between Crathes Castle and the Deeside town of Banchory, just off the A93 and only 30 minutes from Aberdeen.
There is plenty of free on site parking.
The market place will be open to the public from 10.30am to 5pm.

Future Icons Selects 2025, London
Future Icons Selects is back for a third year running during London Craft Week. Set to be this year’s largest showcase of contemporary crafts, Future Icons Selects is once again taking over the Oxo Tower Wharf’s industrial Bargehouse with over 50 artists from a multitude of craft disciplines, spanning multiple continents.


MUDFest, Ulverston, Cumbria
MUDFest is a ceramic festival in the heart of South Cumbria.
Located in the town of Ulverston, the festival takes place in mid May each year at Ford Park. The event is brimming with potters and ceramic artists selling their work together with opportunities for the public to have a go themselves or simply watch demonstrations from our talented artisans.

Potfest Scotland
Under large marquees across Scone Palace lawns, meet the 90 studio ceramics artists taking part. Wander Scone’s grounds, gardens and pinetum. Talk to the makers, discover what fuels their passion for clay and buy direct. Make a full day of your visit and soak up all things clay at this Scottish celebration of ceramics.


Sussex Craft Week
Sussex Craft Week – curated by ROSA (Review of Sussex Arts) – is a new week-long event that aims to celebrate craft and showcase the wealth of creativity in Sussex: its makers and making.
“Creativity on an industrial scale” is how Sussex Craft Week Partner, Gyr King, CEO, Fine Art Printers King & McGaw, describes the craft industry in Sussex today. Sussex Craft Week sets out to showcase this to the world with a series of high profile exhibitions, demonstrations and open studios, along with open-to-all courses.
Sussex Craft Week will offer a coordinated exhibition and event programme across East and West Sussex and Brighton & Hove, revealing the history of craft in Sussex and its place as the hub of today’s craft revival.
Visitors will discover exciting craft exhibitions, events, demonstrations, open workshops and courses across Sussex, all easy to find via an interactive map and calendar, as well as ROSA’s print magazine.

Ceramic Wales 2025
Pots, Plants and Food Festival at Bodrhyddan Hall
Ceramic Wales was founded in 2015 by a group of potters based in and around North Wales, who had a vision of creating a quality ceramic event to promote potters from across the UK and the rest of the world.

Southern Ceramic Group 50th Anniversary Event, Swanwick
To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Southern Ceramic Group with talks by Mella Shaw and Cadi Froehlich.
10.30am The Brickworks Museum opens to SCG members, who can look round the museum and the installation (see below)
11am Start The Big Build which will continue throughout the day inviting members and the public to join in. The Big Build will be a collaborative project using provided clay to roll coils and add them to one large form, to see how large a structure can be achieved. Ongoing details may include smaller individual builds for the public to explore the medium.

Potfest by the Lake - Compton Verney
Potfest by the Lake – Compton Verney will showcase outstanding ceramic artists under a number of large, open-sided marquees on immaculate lawns, overlooking the stunning lake.

Dovecot Midsummer Ceramics Fair
Back for their third year! Last year around 25 ceramic artists showed their work in the gardens. There were throwing demos where people could get involved. The beautiful gardens and gallery at Dovecot are the perfect setting for this wonderful celebration of pottery and ceramic sculpture.

The International Ceramics Festival, Aberystwyth
The ICF is Europe’s premier ceramics festival which is held at Aberystwyth Arts Centre on the campus of Aberystwyth University on the mid-Wales coast. Since it began in 1987, the three-day festival has grown to become the UK’s leading ceramics event. It offers teachers, students, ceramic artists, collectors, working potters and amateurs and lovers of craft, the chance to meet and study the work of distinguished, internationally known potters and ceramicists from Wales, the UK and around the world.
The Festival attracts over 1000 people who attend lectures, watch practical demonstrations and visit our special exhibitions over a long weekend at the end of June or early July. Our international demonstrators show skills and techniques on our specially adapted stage and also have their own workspaces – enabling personal discussion about their work. The focus is both practical and inspirational – kilns are built, pots are made and fired.
The Festival supports emerging makers and has opportunities for students and recent graduates who work with clay through ceramics, fine art or 3-D design courses. If you are a teaching organisation and would like us to arrange a visit to talk to your students please contact us at the festival office.
The Festival offer visitors opportunities to take part during the festival with a variety of hands on activities, as well as being able to vote for the Lifetime Achievement award and donate their work to the Cup Sale.The festival is sponsored by Potclays, one of the UK’s main ceramics suppliers, and is supported by other ceramic supply companies. It has financial support from the Welsh Arts Council and the Welsh Government.
The organisers are Wales’s two potters groups, North Wales Potters and South Wales Potters together with Aberystwyth University.

The Hepworth Wakefield Ceramics Fair
The Hepworth Wakefield Ceramics Fair is the go-to place to buy and explore all things pottery. You’ll find over 60 of the UK’s best independent ceramicists and potters selling traditional and contemporary ceramics, homeware, tableware, jewellery and more. Plus family activities, street food, new exhibitions and discounted gallery entry.


Potfest South West - Shaftesbury
Potfest South West will be held in the show field for the Gillingham and Shaftesbury country fair, just off the B3081, Shaftesbury to Gillingham road.


Celebrating Ceramics, Oxford
Celebrating Ceramics 2025 will showcase a stunning collection of diverse artists from the world of contemporary ceramics. This fine selection of artistic talent will be set on the lawns that hosted the internationally acclaimed Art In Action for 40 years.


Ceramics Fair, Thoresby Park
A new Ceramics Fair at Thoresby Park, Newark, Nottinghamshire!
May become a yearly event depending on its success this year.
There will be 30 spaces available inside the beautiful Riding Hall and limited outdoor spaces for 3m x 3m gazebos. Deadline for applications: 17th February.

Potfest in the Park - Hutton-in-the-Forest
Potfest in the Park takes place under large marquees on parkland in front of this magnificent country house. The potters’ special competition pieces are displayed on the lawns in front of the house, juxtaposing ancient architecture and modern ceramics.

British Ceramics Biennial 2025
British Ceramics Biennial (BCB) is an arts organisation based in Stoke-on-Trent with a vision of making change through clay.
The next edition of the British Ceramics Biennial will run from 6 September to 19 October 2025, bringing together a dynamic programme of free exhibitions, screenings, talks and events that shine a light on Stoke-on-Trent’s industrial heritage and creative edge.
Hot on the heels of Stoke-on-Trent being named a World Craft City, and in the year that the city celebrates its centenary, the 2025 Biennial will spotlight leading contemporary ceramic artists and introduce work by fresh new talent, animating historic buildings and unexpected places with clay.
As well as staging the single largest ceramics event in the UK, British Ceramics Biennial runs an engaging year-round programme of artists’ commissions, learning and community projects in Stoke-on-Trent, with a vision of making change through clay. This feeds into the Biennial programme.
The 2025 British Ceramics Biennial programme will be presented in a range of spaces that draw on Stoke-on-Trent’s rich industrial past. Venue and programme details will be announced in spring 2025.

Ceramicspace + Space House
Contemporary ceramics meets brutalist architecture in a free, one-off exhibition beneath the concrete Y-columns and fluted canopy in what was originally a petrol station at the base of the landmark 1960s office building, Space House.
Soon to be fitted out as a new restaurant, this is a rare chance to see brutalist architectural structures and materials in their raw form juxtaposed with contemporary ceramics, displayed on furniture by Case, including the timeless 'Dulwich' table range designed by Matthew Hilton and the iconic 'Forum' seating collection designed by Robin Day.
Artists: special guests Jane Cairns and Sue Gunn. New work by ceramicspace founder members Julia Bennett, Sophie Cohen, Susan Feldman, Marie-Louise Munch, Vicky Thornton and Rebecca Williams.
About Space House: Commissioned by property tycoon Harry Hyams in the 1960s, Covent Garden’s Space House was designed by Richard Seifert & Partners, the same architecture practice behind the Centre Point building. Built between 1964-1968, the geometric, cylindrical landmark tower and its sister building, The Block, have recently been refurbished by specialised creative office developer Seaforth Land working with Squire & Partners as Architect.

There will also be a limited number of tours of the Space House building between 11am and 2pm on Friday 28 March - full details to be announced nearer the time.

Turning Earth Ceramics Spring Market, London
Turning Earth's Spring Market is back on the 22 & 23 March in their Hoxton studio, 11-5pm each day.
Explore their studio and the work of over 80 makers, different each day!
With live music from @jimbino_vegan_art, and locally made artisanal food and drinks from @sourdoughdaali, it will be a wonderful spot for your weekend stroll - and just a 5-minute walk from the popular Columbia Road Flower Market. Dogs are welcome too (but on the lead please).

Craft Festival Cheltenham 2025
Craft Festival, Cheltenham was founded in 2018 and is presented in partnership with Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre and Find a Maker. Hosted in the stunning Town Hall in the centre of Cheltenham, Craft Festival presents 100 of some of the countries finest makers plus craft workshops, demonstrations, live music and food. 3000+ visitors.

Towner Ceramics Fair, Eastbourne
Towner’s popular makers’ fairs are returning for 2025 with even more opportunities for visitors to snap up products from talented local craftspeople and small businesses, plus the very best makers from further afield.

York Ceramics Fair 2025
The Craft Potters Association always curates a strong line up and this year is no exception with 61 exhibitors confirmed, from Cornwall to Scotland.
Venue: For the third time, York Ceramics Fair 2025 will return to the iconic York Racecourse. This bright and open venue ensures ease of access and on-site parking and has been popular with guests and exhibitors.
Ticketing: To aid with distancing, tickets are issued for before 1pm and after 1pm. Once inside, you may stay as long as you like.
Access: York Racecourse is a fully accessible venue. There will be Blue Badge parking just near the entrance through the Houghton Building where there is a ramp down to the main entrance.
As always, under 16s do not need a ticket.

Manchester Ceramics Fair 2025
Manchester Ceramics Fair is coming to the Whitworth 15-16 March 2025. Hosting 28 stall holders, the fair showcases a curated selection of the best independent makers, with an emphasis on ceramicists based in the North.
This year they will taking over the beautiful South Gallery, overlooking the park, and the fair will run for a full weekend. All information is available in the information pack on their website, along with the application.

Grove Vale Ceramics Winter Sale, London
It is very sad news that Grove Vale Ceramics will be closing on Sunday 26 January.
While the physical gallery space will close Grove Vale Ceramics will continue in other forms including pop-up exhibitions so keep an eye out for future updates. Before they close they are having a final sale of work and a drinks night to raise a toast to the gallery and everyone involved.

In their last weeks they will be having a sale of work by all their gallery members. Price reductions on work will include old stock, samples and slight seconds.

They are having drinks in the gallery on the evening of Friday 24 January. Since they opened they have been buoyed and energised by the support and warmth of the visitors to the gallery, some of whom have become close and valued friends. The evening will be an opportunity to gather together to thank them all.

Winter Ceramic Pop-Up, Hackney
Come and bag some original, hand designed Christmas presents at this year’s Winter Ceramic Pop-Up! This curated selection of ceramics are by SPACE artists collectively known as Triangle Ceramics Ldn. Turning Earth Winter Ceramics Market Highgate
A vibrant showcase of artistic talent and handmade craftsmanship, with over 200 different makers over four days.
Whether you’re a returning pottery lover or a curious newcomer, the markets offer something for everyone: browse the one-of-a-kind pieces, meet the makers behind the masterpieces, and discover why this mindful craft is so popular in the city. With the Christmas season fast approaching, get ahead of the last-minute frenzy and buy something that has been made by hand locally with passion, and support small businesses in your area.
There will be street food, from freshly baked sourdough pizza to BBQ delicacies and hot dogs. We’ll have festive drinks to warm you up in cold weather, from local craft beer to mulled wine, and barista coffees, or soft drinks if you prefer to keep it chilled. And last but not least, there will be live music to add an extra dose of festive cheer to the atmosphere.
There will be live wheel-throwing demos on all of the four market days, so you can get up close and see lumps of clay transform into beautiful pottery. For anyone who would like to get hands-on involved with clay, there will be drop-in workshops at the Leyton market on the 23rd and 24th of November.
Each year Turning Earth makers donate special pieces and seconds to raise money for organisations that reflect Turning Earth's vision of building a community with open arms. This year, we’re supporting the potters and craftspeople affected by the recent hurricanes in the Southeast US through the charity CERF+. Look for the charity stall at the market.


Seven Limes Pottery Winter Open Studio, Manchester
6th December, 5.30pm-8pm and 7th December, 10am-4pm.
Coinciding with a move to a new larger premises, a short walk from Manchester's city centre, Seven Limes Pottery is holding their annual open studio. It'll be a first look at their new space, and is the perfect stop to enjoy a glass of mulled wine while perusing handmade ceramics: from functional pots for daily use to sculptural ceramic art works. There'll be a mix of samples, seconds and old stock at a reduced price and it's also a good opportunity to find out about the studio’s excellent pottery workshops.

The Ceramic Studio Christmas Maker's Market, Brenchley
The Ceramics Studio will be hosting their Christmas Makers’ Market on Sunday 1st December. Pop along anytime between 10am and 4pm to pick up a gift or two. There will be plenty of stallholders selling a variety of handmade goods, ranging from contemporary jewellery to textiles and ceramics.

Clay Collective Festive Sale
Clay Collective will be selling new work as well as loads of samples and seconds from all their makers. This is the perfect opportunity visit their space and find unique gifts, beautifully crafted in the studio. Hackney Downs Studios will also be hosting their Xmas Market in the courtyard that weekend, so come along!

Maze Hill Pottery Open Studio, London
The 30th year of Kiln openings and first and seconds sale to the public. This year, Lucas George-Jones, Matty Lewandowski and Alice Wakefield will be joining Lisa Hammond MBE who have been making pots for this event.
There are many ways you can get to Maze Hill. They are in the Old Station Ticket office at Maze Hill on the down side of the line. Just come off the train on the down side of the line and they are the building as you come off the platform. Direct from Cannon St , London Bridge from London but also the Thames- Link train that starts at St Albans via St Pancras and London Bridge. Also on the Elizabeth Line from Woolwich and Jubilee from North Greenwich.

The Kiln Rooms Christmas Sale, London
Open 5-9pm on the Friday and 11am-5pm Saturday and Sunday across 2 venues.
These shows act as a showcase for between 80-100 up and coming artists and designers working with ceramics and takes place across the Bellenden Road and Copeland Park studios. It’s a great opportunity to see a range of handmade work, meet the makers and see the studios where the work itself was made. All work on display is for sale and in buying work you’re helping support the maker’s ongoing practice. Check out a few of their makers on their Members page or on Instagram.

Anita and Emile Woolf established Maxability in 2009 in order to enhance the lives of disabled adults in the London Borough of Barnet. They were partly inspired to establish the charity because their son, Carl Woolf, is deaf and physically disabled. Maxability’s mission is to enable participants to develop their creative potential through inclusive ceramics classes. Located in the Flightways Centre near Colindale, Maxability has a fully equipped pottery studio and provides a caring, supportive and creative environment. Maxability became a registered charity in 2015 (Charity No. 1162002).
