Oxford Ceramics Gallery

Ceramics displayed on a sideboard

Oxford Ceramics Gallery is an independent gallery specialising in the exhibition and sale of modern and contemporary studio ceramics.  They work with both UK and international artists across generations with a particular focus on British, Danish and Japanese work.

Established by James Fordham and his partner Rachel Ackland in 2006, the gallery has been in its current Walton Street home in Jericho in central Oxford since 2011.

The business was born of a genuine passion for the art of ceramics (James has been an active collector since the age of 12!) and is underpinned by an active programme of one person and thematic shows in our well-designed, intimate viewing environment in Oxford supported by occasional external presence at leading art fairs such as Collect.

James is delighted to be able to act as a special advisor to a growing number of private individuals who are looking to develop or re-shape their studio ceramic collections and the gallery regularly place works in leading museums including, in recent months, the V & A Museum, London; Ashmolean Museum, Oxford and Hepworth Gallery, Wakefield.

The gallery also benefits from support and advice from experienced independent curator, Amanda Game, and fellow ceramics enthusiast, collector, Keith Seeley.
